Bluehaven Consulting LLC is a privately held software company in Hialeah, Florida. We build instrumentation for the physical world, the real-time pipelines that carry what it sees, and the operational tooling that keeps both honest once they are running in the field.
We work on a small number of projects at a time and stay with them through deployment and daily operation rather than handing off at delivery.
What we do
Measurement, then decision, then the discipline to run it.
Most of our work begins with a physical process nobody is currently measuring well: a camera pointed at something fast, a sensor that reports unreliably, a feed that is almost but not quite trustworthy. We build the capture path, get the data into a form that can be acted on quickly enough to matter, and then build the far less glamorous half, which is the tooling that lets a responsible person see what the system is doing and stop it when it is wrong.
The interesting difficulty in that work is rarely the model. It is the failure cases, the clock, the hostile input from a device somebody else is holding, and the operational discipline to run the whole thing every day without drama. We design for the assumption that any component can be lying, and that the answer when a check cannot complete is no.
We are a small firm and we intend to stay one. That shapes what we take on: projects where depth matters more than headcount, and where the same people who designed the system are the ones who get called when it misbehaves.

Real-time capture
High frame rate video and sensor capture on mobile and embedded hardware, including the camera, timing and thermal behaviour that decides whether a capture path is usable in the field or only on a bench.
On-device machine learning
Computer vision models trained, quantized and deployed to run locally on phones and edge hardware, where the round trip to a data centre is longer than the thing being measured.
Data pipelines
Ingestion, processing and storage paths built for throughput and for correctness under partial failure, with the instrumentation to prove which of those two you are getting.
Operational tooling
Consoles, alerting and audit trails for the people accountable for a system in production, built on the premise that a system you cannot observe is a system you do not control.
Mobile applications
Native and hybrid applications for iOS and Android, with an emphasis on field use: intermittent connectivity, cold hands, and operators who need the application to be obvious rather than clever.
Architecture review
Written assessment of an existing system, its failure modes and its operational risk, delivered as something a team can act on rather than a slide deck.
How we work
Three stages, and the third one is the long one.
Assess
A written account of what exists and what is actually being asked for. The stated problem and the real one are often different, and finding that out early is cheaper than finding it out in month four.
Build
Short, reviewable increments against a system that stays running. We would rather ship a narrow thing that works than a broad thing that mostly does.
Operate
Software handed over at delivery and never looked at again rots in ways nobody notices until it matters. Our engagements normally include running the system after it ships.
Products
We publish our own software as well.
Alongside client engagements, Bluehaven develops and operates its own applications, including software for iOS. These are built in house by the same people who do the consulting work, and they are where a good deal of what we know about field capture came from.

We hire for judgment, and we are hiring now.
Bluehaven takes on people for field operations as well as engineering. The work is real, the equipment is ours, and the standard is that you can say what you did and why. We would rather train a careful person than inherit a confident one.
