Bluehaven Consulting LLC

Working at Bluehaven

A small company that would rather train a careful person than inherit a confident one.

What it is like

Small company, real equipment, visible consequences.

Bluehaven is a small firm and everyone here is close to the work. There is no layer between what you do and whether it worked. Systems we build run in the field on live events, which means a mistake shows up the same day rather than in a quarterly review, and it also means a good call is obvious.

We care a great deal about people saying what they actually observed. A report of "I am not sure, here is what I saw" is worth more to us than a confident account that turns out to be wrong, and nobody here gets in trouble for the first one. Most of what has cost us time historically came from plausible guesses stated as fact.

We train. Field operations work does not require a technical background, and we would rather teach our own procedures to someone reliable than assume experience elsewhere transfers.

Where we hire

The two kinds of work here.

Field operations

Operating Bluehaven capture equipment at live events. You are on site, you set up and run company hardware to a written procedure, and you report what happened. Shifts are scheduled around event calendars, which means evenings and weekends, and work is paid per shift.

Requirements are reliability, punctuality, and the willingness to follow a procedure exactly and say so when you could not. Equipment is provided. No prior technical experience is needed.

Engineering

Building and operating the systems above: mobile capture applications, on-device computer vision, data pipelines, and the operational tooling that makes all of it observable. You would be close to production from early on, because that is where the problems are.

We are interested in people who read the documentation before writing the code, who are comfortable saying a design is wrong, and who want to operate what they build rather than hand it off.

Applying

How to get in touch.

Write to hiring@bluehavenresearch.com. Tell us which of the two kinds of work above you are interested in, where you are based, and what your availability looks like. A résumé is welcome but not required for field operations roles.

We read everything that arrives and reply to everyone, though not always quickly. Specific openings are usually filled in batches as event schedules are confirmed, so an application that arrives between rounds is kept and revisited rather than discarded.
